located beyond neptunes orbit is the dwarf planet haumea, the inspiration behind rodhads second release for token. it follows his spomeniks 12inch from last year which the berliner used to debut on the belgian label, the only other imprint hes released with other than his own dystopian records. over the past three years rodhads reputation has sky-rocketed, not only as an accomplished producer with five releases to his name, but as a big room dj whose formidable presence behind the decks demands as much respect as dvs1 and german big guns dettmann and klock.

l 33... get acquainted as we think it is a name you will be hearing a lot more of in the future. hailing from the creative d&b hotbed that is bulgaria, l 33 has been creeping up the ranks with covert diligence and a sonic attitude that is going to take him right to the top. already enjoying big love and support from scene titans drum&bassarena, here we find him making his program debut with two scorching underground future-focused work-outs. recognise... it is time, once again, to get with the program!

up and coming portuguese producer lewis fautzi is quickly becoming a name to look out for in techno. championed by the likes of jeff mills and slam, fautzis hypnotic, tracky sound is much in demand. in may 2014 figure label founder len faki opened his boiler room berlin set with a new lewis fautzi production, the beatless intro vibes of >diagonal<, and thus a new ep was born on figure.

brand new sub-label of the long-standing and highly respected adult only imprint from chris carrier. the first release comes from romania dj/producer funk e, who made his name as resident of the musically forward-thinking ibiza party zoo project, and has released on names as big as raum and desolat. the 2-track package is made with the dancefloor in mind, pumping tech-house that feels nicely minimal, with plenty of drive and bassline.

this edit of malis amadou & mariam ce nest pas bon (originally created in 2008 for my dj sets) was supposed to be included on the recently released third autonomous africa 12inch. unfortunately i didnt get permission to use it in time for that release but permission has now been given, so rather than wait for aa 004 in 2015 it is going to come out as a limited edition hand stamped 10inch as soon as possible. all proceeds will once again go to the mtandika mission in tanzania -www.actioninafrica.org/about-mtandika.php a big thanks to ben ufo and midland for championing this edit. the interest they generated directly led to the motivation for this release.

here s something to stir the loins of any discerning disco dj: a studio hook-up between veteran producer felix dickinson (fresh from his much-loved outing on futureboogie recordings), horse meat disco and one-time dfa man (and renowned multi-instrumentalist) marcus marr. there s an additional contributor, too: a mystery (presumably big-name) vocalist whose talk-box heavy delivery sits somewhere between prince, george clinton and pharrell. the track itself is something of a summer anthem in the making - an immaculately produced p-funk jam with the additional benefit of a shuffling, house-friendly groove. no details on how many copies have been pressed, either way, you d be well advised to snap up a copy while you still can.

airhead is writing big ones now. inspired by afterhours sessions in some of the worlds best and worst nightclubs, hek024 bangs with the best of them and enforces a new weight behind the producers delicate production style. the roughness debuted on this summers *believe* ep for 1-800 dinosaur (a label rob co-runs with james blake and friends) on which he soaked up plenty of influences from us and uk club tracks/trax and effortlessly intertwined them with his measured songwriting and arrangement skills.

berlin techno was the big thing over the last years, but you might know that in german cites like hamburg and munich there is a huge growing experimental house scene. hamburgs diynamic records crew or munich artists such as sascha sibler (innervisions) or cocolores (exploited) are equally well respected as the big names from berlin. one of the fresh new labels is toy tonics from munich and the raising stars of the labels are rhode & brown.

nx1, spanish duo samot and surit from nexe records step up to the plate for the next release on terence fixmer’s planete rouge label, with their ‘pr’ ep. having also released on the likes of semantica, dynamic reflection, m_rec and modularz, their tracks are the result of many years of experience in the electronic music scene where techno was the main soundtrack. the ep is comprised of three new cuts, opening with the thunderous ‘pr1’ with its pulsating bass setting the tone for the rest of the ep. ‘pr2’ follows with some dappled electronics before ‘pr3’ pounds into play, rounding up this triple techno-header. big with marcel dettmann, luke slater, marcel fengler, joseph capriati, truncate, drumcell and many more

with only their debut 12 inch on the newly formed magic jams imprint, snacks are already killing it. these guys are going to be big! imagine bernard pretty purdie, dizzy gillespie and blaze got stuck in a studio and you get an idea what this berlin based live duo sounds like. in complex arrangements they create funky state-of-the-art house music, in a class all its own.

neroli is back after the big release by dego & 2000 black family. this new ep is the third contribution from trinidadian deep to the label, continuing to follow the way of the previous two: deep spiritual heartfelt tracks.

nobody can deny the fact that vilnius in lithuania is currently a very creative and agile place. first and foremost mario basanov of course, whose ten walls moniker swept the board last year and whose hype seems to have only just started. his popularity was heightened by the start of his own label boso. it took off with the highly praised -walking with elephants-, which was already one of the biggest tunes of this summer, before it even came out. the second release is by few nolder, another highly talented native from vilnius, who showed frst signs of life on connaisseur with his lovely tune -space espace- on our last edition of livingroom techno as well as with his remix for -canto d amore- by marco effe & francesco carone. -clouds- is the name of his boso release, and it looks to be the next big thing for this young label. for his frst own release on connaisseur he delivered -if-.the fact that it is different from his other output is why we have decided to present this tune in two versions as a 10- vinyl-only single. the original is a summerish and catchy house cut with a bouncy bassline and a slightly uk-approach.this tune makes you move without there being much you can do about it. the alt version goes deeper, building up with a question/answer theme until a strong, driving piano element joins to complete the track. lovers of older pokerflat releases will truly enjoy this version.

that man, craig mcnamara aka last magpie, is proving a popular choice round here at hypercolour/losing suki hq. with various eps and remixes for both our labels, it s also rubbed off on some of our artists too, with the likes of maya jane coles being a big supporter (getting a last magpie re-rub of her everything track on her new label i/am/me). his always on point blend of genres, from bumpin garage kissed house to hardcore bass monsters mark him out as a very versatile producer, and on the she won t let ep, the magpie once again spreads his wings over four cuts.

bright sounds present their third release, from paris-based producer shlømo - owner of kindred spirit label taapion. having made a big impression in late-2013 with taapion s debut release the harvest ep (featuring conforce and stephen brown remixes), shlømo now presents his second full solo ep: rechaïm explores similar sonic textures to those found on taapion and bright sounds releases so far - a richly layered and dense world of dub techno atmospherics with dancefloor versatility. the four tracks all allow for different aspects of shlømo s exemplary production skill to shine through, marking the producer alongside bright sounds owner and fellow parisian as producers and a&r talents to keep close watch of.

z records are back with vol 7 in the attd series: a1 yes, another killer cut on zr. zo!s gorgeous soul tune featuring eric roberson and phonte gets subtly housed up mix by dave lee. a record you will be hearing all summer at more musically inclined parties across the world. a2 jakattas house classic american dream gets a very cool bassline driven remix from andre crom & chi thanh… b1 new and unreleased…. b2 akabu feat. alex mills *everybody wants something* was an enormous tune for many in 2013 and is still getting played by big name djs in bustling nightclubs around the world. now we give you an off the chain/on point/un-believable remix from rhemi. we are not going to describe the nuances of the remix and highlight why the aforementioned big name djs like dropping the track in their sets at cool clubs/festivals/corporate events but its pretty bloody good…

thyladomid is a young german producer who joined the diynamic ranks back in 2011 and now he is back with another big hitting track, the real thing, featuring mâhfoud plus remixes from label mates stimming and adriatique.

no artificial colours have been busy. the south east london duo lewis wright and ryan ellis have been name checked by everyone from maya jane coles and jamie jones to cyril hahn and paul woolford and legends such as kerri chandler. following their recent smash for pmr *reach for me* (feat. alex mills) no artificial colours are back with a late night ep for kerri chandlers madtech records.
the menace ep sums up everything that is exciting about the no artificial colours sound: raw, soulful, rooted in classic garage and house, big room party vibes with underground cool, it is no surprise to see the pair have been highly lauded by the likes of pitchfork, vice, i-d and fact of late.

dj goethe big classic here, at least realesed on vinyl. a superb 140 bpm acid techno tune with everything needed in a good tune. on the b-side stands a very ptit gris, playable any speed and totally minimal and easy. a superb dj tool bringing a fat kick like never before and thats the point.

2014 repress as vinyl !!! this track was originally released on delsin sub label, ann aimee, and sold out within no time. its been in demand ever since so here it is complimented by a huge remix from marcel dettmann (mdr)....big one.

usually found in partnership with blocks on their own narratives imprint, here we find escher flying solo with two beautifully contrasting compositions. deep architecture has already been causing a big stir online due to its wild time signature and off-beat percussive patterns. physically its drum & bass, but mentally its most definitely techno as it pummels with loopy drum insistency. spirit bounce, meanwhile, is a stark and breezy stepper that oozes space and shimmers with emotive synths. its a simple but soulful synthesis many have attempted over the year but only few have mastered... klute, marcus intalex and now escher, too. the return of 31 has been one of d&bs best stories so far this year.

after his big success with waehlscheibe 003, p. laoss returns on the swiss label with another dub house masterpiece. the german producer has once more switched on his reverb and delay gear and created a wonderful record full of fluffy chords, gentle pads and heavy basses. >rephrasing dub<, >i dont care< and >never though< all display the mans musical mastery in terms of harmony, variety and dramatic expression. in his remix of >i dont care<, federsen from san francisco has taken the crispy deep original and turned it into a broken beat stunner brimming with dubby crackles, noises and delays – all created with his analogue machines. as always all tracks have been mastered by above smoke at the hole of dub studio.

this 5th release consists of three tracks made by the twin duo manic brothers, one edited by petter b. they have during their relativity short career proven themselves as worthy keepers of the swedish techno heritage with big releases on drumcode a.o. what they bring to bond on this release is their signature big room sound but with a much more simplified approach than previously heard. on the a-side there are two great tool tracks with lots of space for creative interpretation for a dj. on the flip there are a long and epic track with a massive vocal breakdown. groove based but yet with a big and strong hook.

the shag edits hits volume 4 welcoming david glass, timmy p and twos tones to the roots for bloom roster. david brings a big hitter with tape deck with its mc sampled vocal, timmy s is drenched in sunshine for all the day parties this is sure to go off at and two s tones takes things on a jazz twist, with clever sampling but always that underlying groove that the roots for bloom label is known for. fans of the previous releases wont be dissapointed.

london based producer io sounds has been making big shapes in the underground over the past few years, the rising artist dropped an exciting collaborative ep with lakosa via kerri chandlers madtech imprint last year, as well as a remix for chandlers long-running madhouse label. weve also heard outstanding guest mixes for cameo on bbcs 1xtra and coco coles capital fm show. with this in mind its no surprise to see the enigmatic producer snapped up for a series of releases on 2020vision, a label that has a knack for finding talent in the early stages of their career

a little over a year ago nunorthern soul brought you bj smith s gorgeous cover versions of two hip hop classics. last time out he tackled mos def, which gilles peterson proclaimed as -the sound of sunsets for years to come- and the pharcyde, this time he is bringing his unique touch to the recently-reunited outkast. andre 3000 and big boi are hitting the festival circuit during the summer, this celebration of their greatest work should tide you over until they get back into the studio. and would they approve of these two radical re-interpretations of their music? we like to think so, see what you think.

space hardware is a bristol based imprint aiming to outlet left-of-centre slices of celestial electronic music. the next release comes courtesy of the essen based space cadet glenn astro who follows up a slew of eps on big bait records, odd socks and copenhagen s tartelet. the whole ep is brilliant, and as powerplay we choose the last track on the ep, clara parker s -uncertainty- remixes by astro hismelf. piano driven song, with broken beats, on the uk garage type.

part one of aroops brazil breakdown series was a big hit among the main players on the jazzy scene with airplay from gilles peterson and kev beadle etc. this second edition will definitely please all fans of the first volume but should also make him some new fans. on this release you will find 3 tracks in various tempos and sound but with one common detail ... brazil! all three tracks have their own sound but are designed to rock any party where the summer and sun is in focus.
